Crater Lake
by WingofCootCrater Lake in northwestern Mygalla has several villages on its shores. The three largest of these (population 200, 160, and 150) are the largest settled communities in Mygalla away from the Valles Marineris itself. They are entirely populated by Webwalkers.
These villages are each built into an artificially enlarged hollow into the cliffs that form the crater's side, and appear like a cluster of grayish-white balls and hemispheres (the buildings, constructed of webbing) densely webbed together, spilling out from the hollow down the face of the cliff to the water's edge.
The inhabitants live on the thriving fish population of the Lake. The livestock they raise includes giant oil beetles and giant fire beetles (the actual luminous variety, not merely the standard domestic Mygallan giant beetle).
