1016 AC rate of growth: 1 level per two years
The adventure begins as summer is coming to an end, and the autumn harvest is only a month away in 1016 AC. The families relocated here were all exceptionally poor, and each has nothing but praise for the Lady Felmoor who has given them a chance at a new life.
Many of the families have infant children, the first true natives of New Brook. Each family is concerned by monsters, and the parents are very protective of their families. Members of the militia are a mixture of experienced soldiers and raw recruits, led by a seasoned veteran named Captain Reiner Steinberg a 13th level retired soldier.
Then there is Lady Felmoor's younger brother, Grayson Cinwell Felmoor. She dragged him with her, and he would prefer to be studying in the Halls of the Great Glantri School of Magic Library. He spends his free time studying or at the Cherry "Hot" Springs or in the Guild's library. Lady Felmoor made him the Guild Librarian. Fire Creek Guild
NPC and PC wizards become a member of the Guild: funding for magical items or research, a tower or other abode to call his own, and even use of relics (minor) from the treasury.
Once the mission is accepted, the PC will be taken by horseback to New Brook. Accompanied by a dozen of the Lady Felmoor's men, the trip to the village will be uneventful.
New Brook is home to 56 farming families, each having anywhere from four to six children who work the fields with their parents. A contingent of 30 soldiers is stationed here to keep the peace and protect the villagers. There are also people who run a local inn (The Rock), general store (run by the guild), and a blacksmith smith. The village is built around the Grand tower of Lady Felmoor. It is an very isolated frontier community in the Mountains of Glantri.
The farmers of New Brook have started growing a mixture of Beans, Beets, Carrots, Corn, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Peas, Potatoes, Radishes, even Tomatoes.
However, the Fire Cherry Trees are unique to Fire Creek Valley and only grow here because of all the hot springs.
Mage Tower Twist:
What Sophia Paige Felmoor has not told the PC is that she sent out many letters to many students and when the PC arrives there will be 63 other wizards (level 1st to 4th level). Each will be given a rough tower if they assist New Brook. This is all her long-term plans on getting more wizards into the Valley.
