Alfheim: Goblin Park mystery creature idea

by Marc Saindon

The "Goblins" are from an alternate world, which you could simplify as the Feywild (albeit its darker parts), and they could be a goblin-like creature which one could call "Boggarts" - they are an Unseelie servitor race, designed to look like Goblins.

The threat they were fleeing was their master, which could be Arik of the Hundred Eyes (from B3 Palace of the Silver Princess). I re-imagine Arik as a unique Beholder with multiple red eyes, tied to the Good Kingdom and banished by Oberon ages ago in the limbo in-between worlds.

Goblin Park's magic spot special power, the flawless teleportation, is tied to Arik's imprisonment. Each time the power is used, the ban from Oberon grows weaker. Arik is the dark presence people feel when using the site's magic to travel.

Eventually, the wards might break, summon Arik (and Boggarts still loyal to him), and maybe this occurs during WOTI, adding a new foe to terrorize Alfheim and slowly transform it into Aengmor. Perhaps Arik allies with the Nithian Lich, or the two struggle against each other, causing a lot of collateral damage in the process.

It's up to the Elves to defeat him, with Alfheim folk knowing a lot about Fey to handle some of the magic that influences the Boggarts, while the Shadow Elves lore on crystals might help handle various ruby-like McGuffins that serve as Arik's "horcruxes".
