Sasquatches of Mystara (Big Foot, Yeti)

Last year I did two writeups for Sasquatches as PC races for BECMI:
While looking to revise the two, I have also started to think more about how they fit into Mystara as a setting. I like that the Sasquatch is so different from the Yeti of other editions.
Sasquatches really fit as an an intelligent race. I recall something James Mishler once mentioned about a powerful Sasquatch Druid in his campaign residing in Atruaghin. The creatures are also mentioned in several gazetteers.
Looking at some of the countries where the Sasquatch has a presence:
ATRUAGHIN
In Atruaghin, the Woodland variety, sometimes called Big Foot are most common. In my writeup I includede the following:
Woodland Sasquatches have a deep respect for the Shamani of Atruaghin. They will come to the aid of an Atrhuaghin tribe if called by a Shamani and help fight to protect the lands from outsiders.
I really like the idea of strengthening the relationship between the people of Atruaghin and the Sasquatches. I think this also helps add a greater fantasy element into that country which I think has been missing. Perhaps some tribes are more friendly towards the Sasquatch than others?
ALFHEIM
Here too we have the Woodland variety. They could easily be friendly towards elves as they are also friendly towards various sylvan creatures. I could see many of them spending time among the fey in the Dreamlands region as well.
GLANTRI
The Glantri Gazetteer mentions the moutain variety sometimes called Abominable Snowman by the Glantrians. I think there is potential for further developing the mountain regions of Glantri, perhaps incorporating some relations between the Sasquatches and the Llhamsa mystics? I could also see them being friendly towards the lycantropes.
ROCKHOME
The Rockhome gazetteer mentions the Sasquatches of the mountain variety living in the valleys and mountains in this country. Perhaps they are better known to the low status farmers among the dwarves? I could see them being kept as pets by mountain giants.
Thoughts? How could Sasquatches fit into other parts of Mystara?
