The Macabre: Dread Elemental Genasi for Boldavia
by Marc SaindonAfter watching Pointy Hat's video on Genasi that are based on exposition to certain schools of magic, I thought that maybe Boldavia and Klantyre could produce its own weirdlings due to manipulations of necromantic energies and the radiance.
Stealing from Ravenloft, rather than be tied to classical four elements, the Macabre are a type of Genasi that are linked to the four Dread Elements: Pyre (instead of fire), Blood (replaces water), Mist (substitutes for air) and Grave (stand-in for earth)
The overall theme would be gothic horror, although PCs themselves aren't bound to have an evil or chaotic alignment (think of Frankenstein's creation).
The mechanics are up to debate, it could simply just be an emo re-skin of basic Genasi, or you could grant some resistance to necrotic damage and the price of a "corrupting influence" that tweaks their spells.
