The myth of Melq-Ashtir tells of a powerful warrior who rose from humble beginnings to become the patron of trade and travelers, as well as the patron of warfare and conquest.
According to legend, Melq-Ashtir was born in a small village on the outskirts of Taymora, the son of a blacksmith and a weaver. Despite his modest upbringing, Melq-Ashtir had a fierce determination and a natural talent for combat. As he grew older, he became a skilled warrior and began to make a name for himself in the land.
One day, Melq-Ashtir received a vision from the gods, calling him to spread the wealth and prosperity of Taymora to the world beyond. He set out on a quest to conquer new lands and bring their riches back to his people. Along the way, he protected travelers and merchants, earning the respect and devotion of all who encountered him.
As his fame grew, Melq-Ashtir became known as the patron of trade and travelers, as well as the patron of warfare and conquest. Temples to Melq-Ashtir sprang up across Taymora, serving as centers of business and offering services such as arbitration, measurement, storage, and primitive banking.
Melq-Ashtir is often depicted as a well-muscled, handsome man in his thirties. He is revered by all castes, but especially by the Taymoran upper-middle class, merchants, weaponsmiths, and warriors.
The Great War of the Immortals: According to legend, Melq-Ashtir was once called upon to lead the Taymoran armies into a great war against a powerful enemy. Melq-Ashtir, with his fierce strength and strategic mind, emerged victorious and solidified his reputation as a formidable warrior.
The Dragon's Hoard: According to legend, Melq-Ashtir once slayed a great dragon that had been terrorizing a nearby kingdom. He claimed the dragon's hoard of treasure as his own and used it to fund the expansion of Taymora's trade and commerce.
