Non-Asian Monks/Mystics in Mystara
by Marc SaindonI'm rather in favor of the change of the name of Ki (a more asian concept) to "Focus", which is general enough as a term that you can build more easily a non-Asian Monk. You can still call it Ki in Ochalea (or Prana in Sind) for cultural flavor. Now the name "Monk" itself might still need to be corrected (so BECMI's Mystic name for the class is an option, Shadowrun's "Adept" could also work, as would the simple, uninspiring, "Martial Artist"), as an outside newbie player might think of them as Clerics and not the "fighting monks" street fighter tubo sort of people.
Focus could also replace "Panache" if you homebrew an adaptation of the Savage Coast Fencing schools.
(Now if they could only de-celtize the Druid as a "Primal")
