Niflheim Timeline

As the Ice begins to melt, forming an ocean, the Great Giant Ymir arises. The Giant feeds on the milk from Audhumla. This the primevial Cow-like entitiy brings forth Búri, grandfather of the gods and brothers Odin, Vili and Vé. These Immortals then slay Ymir and the Multiverse is created.
Ancient History
BC4000 Blackmoor Era
Thrym rules parts of Niflheim from his seat in Jotunnheim. On Mystara, he is worshipped by the Skandaharians who know him as Tyrhm. He brings some of them to Niflheim where they gradually turn into Icemen (Niflings). Skadi, known to the men of Blackmoor as Sachwynne Mooncloth, constructs her tower, guarded by creatures known as Shards and Shardlings.
BC3800
Skadi and Protius begin their eternal romance, but they prefer to live on separate planes of existence most of the time.
BC3000
Following the great Rain of Fire, Mystara enters a new ice age. Many inhabitants of Niflheim rejoice. Several clans of Frost Giants emigrate from Niflheim and settle in Frosthaven and other parts of Mystara's arctic regions.
2000 BC
Working with Svartalfar from Svartalfheim, the Frost Giant Helblindi establishes the Frost Mages Academy.
1750 BC
Following the instructions of Rathanos, the Antalian called Lokar (Loki) travels to Niflheim, where he as part of his path to Immortality convinces Queen Laufey that she is his mother.
Loki's Half-brother Donar (Thor) takes the Sea Giant Hymir to Niflheim where they go fishing for sea monsters before Thor returns Hymir to the Isle of Dawn. Thor ascends to Immortality
1650 BC
In the Hollow World, Mystara, a group of elves from now frozen over Glantri make a dangerous underground journey before ending up in the northern parts of the Hollow World. During their journey, they encounter Frost Giants who teach them frost magic, including some secrets that these elves will later consider evil (Hollow World boxed Set, Adventure Booklet). These elves later become known as the Icevale Elves.
1600 BC
After his adventures with Thor, Hymir has founded an undersea kingdom near the Isle of Dawn. He now becomes an Immortal following the Path of the Dynast. He makes a new home on Niflheim.
Modern History

Meredoth opens a portal to Niflheim from his realm in Norwold and joins the Frost Mages Academy. (Ravenloft: Ship of Horrors)
AC980
In Thunder Rift on Mystara, as the Black Knight kills every magic user in Wizardspire, a young magic user from the Barrik bloodline manages to escape using an old artifact that sends him to Niflheim. Nearly freezing to death, he is rescued by Meredoth who takes young Barrik as his apprentice. Barrik later returns to Thunder Rift where he constructs a new laboratory of his own in his ancestral home near Torlynn.
AC991
In the Hollow World, the Icevale Elf Sudeyryl discovers lost dark secrets of her ancestors allowing her to create Frost Zombies. She was subsequently ousted from her clan and uses her newfound magic to terrorize local communities.
AC997
Barrik returns to Niflheim, but finds that Meredoth has gone missing. Breaking into his laboratory, Barrik accidentally triggers a cruse that will kill him upon his return to Thunder Rift, leaving his experiments unfinished. (Quest for the Silver Sword)
