Grey Philosophers and other variants

by Cab Davidson

Red philosophers face eternal damnation for crimes committed in their living years. Their dark red robes are stained with the blood of their victims, those who died because of the schemes they created. They are not themselves the spirits of murderers, they are those who planned great atrocities, masterminds of the multiverses greatest evils, and they are forever damned thus to contemplate their sins.

Their 'malices' are called tormentors, and bear the faces of the red philosophers victims.

Green philosophers suffer their fate at the hands of the druidic council who, combined, may once a century trap the soul of of one who has caused devastation to the natural world. This may be a king who has ordered the destruction of a great forest, or a hunter who has callously destroyed a whole species. The dull, almost camouflaged robes of the green philosopher let little light or warmth in, condemning the criminal to an eternity of cold loneliness shunned by life itself.

Their 'malices' surrounding them are known gaia and are embodiments of the living world, defending their ward to prolong their suffering.

Radiant Philosopers are clad in the whitest of robes, giving out light of unimaginable brilliance. They were scientists who spent their lives working with the stuff of matter, the forces of energy that hold matter in place, the anchors of reality. Their understanding has reached a point of oneness with those forces.

Their 'malices' are known as quanta and it is rumoured that they connect the radiant philosopher to an infinite number of versions of themselves, in an infinite number of potential realities.

The brown robed Philosophers of the 5 elements are similar to enlightened philosophers. They were mystics in life, whose meditations on the nature of existence took them to a quiet place, far away, but far from finding oneness with the universe they are believed to have discovered a place of great loneliness and despair. Swirling orbs of some form of power, in a myriad of colours representative of various forms of elemental power being dissipated to entropy, swirl around them. These are known as chi's.

Black philosophers may be the most dangerous of all of the mystical thinkers. In 'life' they were riddlers who failed so utterly to answer a simple question that they have become lost in existential despair, in what sages believe to be a feedback loop of misunderstanding, the primal thought processes upon which they exist no becoming orbs of pure chaotic illogic, and contact with them can drive any mortal insane. They are known as manias
