Quetzalcoatl vs. Balam Civil War

by Marc Saindon

Either for the Azcan of the Hollow World or the surface Children of the "Tiger", a rehashing of a few old ideas.

I have this idea that one side is all about Evil Clerics of Atzanteotl, with Jaguar Knight Paladins and most urban center forces.

The other is led by Druids (with a less celtic sounding name) with an affinity with the Nagual (Fey) - animal-like beings either from the Feywild or the Good Kingdom - and they're Neutral (not necessarily True Neutral, so you might get a few Neutral Evil opportunists for shades of grey in the conflict). The Nagual would organize themselves in Sun and Moon courts (equivalent of Seelie-Unseelie). Rangers would fall along the lines of Eagle Warrior.

Nagual

One key tactic the "Druid" camp would be the use of overgrowing vegetation to isolate cities and choke out urban centers, reminiscent of those real-world mayan ruins found amidst a ton of vegetation in the tropical rain forest.

Neither camp present a united from: the Nagual Courts play their own games, the Druids are "community first" and the Clerics of Atzianteotl aren't above backstabbing with their own ranks for personal advancement.
