The Rainbow Realm - Overview

Colors of the Rainbow:
White (infrared) - Red - Orange - Yellow - Green - Blue - Indigo - Violet - Black (Ultraviolet)

WHITE (INFRARED) - REALM OF THE MOON

• Celestial Body - The Moon
• Planar Connections: Kingdom of the Moon (X5)
• X2 - White Room: Frost Salamander. Linked to Winter. Room 46: Leads to Lunacy. Connected to The Moon
• M3 - The White Realm - The Moon.
• CM7 - Sturm linked the White Realm to the Goldenland, but I moved this to the Yellow realm.
• Monsters - White and Crystal Dragons

RED - SCARLETLAND

• Celestial Body: M-Mars/Vaniae
• X2 - Brotherhood of the Sun
• M3 - A Representation of War
• CM7 Scarletland
• Monsters - Red Dragon, Fire Elementals

ORANGE - AMBERLAND

• Celestial Body: The Sun.
• Planar Connection: Astral Plane
• X2 - The Yellow Realm - Desert Realm. More connections to Sun Brothers seen in X2's Red Room.
• CM7 - Caverns, connected to Ylaruam
• Monsters - Amber and Brown Dragons. Amber Golems

YELLOW- GOLDENLAND

• Celestial Body: M-Jupiter/Saturnus
• Planar Connection: Plane of Air
• X2 - I moved the Yellow Realm to the Orange/Amberland above.
• Monsters: Gold Dragon, Air Elementals

GREEN - JADELAND

• Celestial Body: M-Uranus / Ordana
• Planar Connection: The Feywild / Plane of Earth
• X2 Green Room: Green Man - Location 20: Wild Hunt

BLUE - AZURELAND

• Celestial Body: Damocles i.e. M-Asteroid belts
• Planar Connection: Ethereal Plane
• Monsters: Purple Bats (CM7)

BLACK/ULTRAVIOLET

• X2 The Black Realm - A realm associated with Death and possibly the Mystaran plane of Limbo/Shadow.
• Black Room: Empty. The scents of various plants could suggest demonology
• Monsters - Night Dragons, Undead

Notes: Much of the above is based on suggestions and ideas from Ripvanwormer, Sturm, Cthulhudrew and others at the Piazza. Although I have made some revisions to those earlier ideas.

 
What is the Rainbow of Mystara?
The Rainbow is a Planar Nexus known as Bifrost. It exists on thousands of planes and worlds at the same time and can be used to travel to almost any part of the Mystara multiverse. Such travel is not without risk however. What do the connections detailed in M3 and X2 mean? I think that those realms and chambers are not true components of the Rainbow, but rather than they are created drawing magic from those colors of the Rainbow. Such enchantments have also drawn creatures and forces associated with the Rainbow to those locations, intentionally or not.

Elves, Faenare and magic users on Mystara have been able to use the magic of the Rainbow to travel across continents on Mystara. Leprechauns guard some of the access points. This is mentioned in CM7, Gaz5 and the Dragonlord Trilogy. Such magic requires an understanding of astronomy and arcane secrets. Moorkroft's contamination of the Rainbow Bridge blocks it from being accessed by mortals of Mystara. Who knows what will happen when the Rainbow is freed once again?
