The Silent City

by Marc Saindon

I've suggested that the "Ahomey" Gulf region region of Tangor (closest to Minaea) would be home to several city-states (9 to keep things interesting politically), all struggling for hegemony over the others (some master commerce, others diplomacy, while others rule the battlefield, a bit like Greek city-states, but with the esthetics of the Great Zimbabwe). One additional city (the tenth), fell to infighting and was just cut off from the rest of civilization as necromantic cult took over and wreck havoc on the populace with zombie plagues on par with Walking Dead or 28 Days Later. When the dust settled, the city fell silent, as no birds would ever go near it enough to sing or chirp.

While a "Dead City", cut off from commerce and the politics of Ahomey, there are still people here. And treasures to be found. Although you could build an entire new dungeon mega-module , one idea is to re-skin and repurpose the B4 Lost City module, with some names changed (Alexander becomes Mufasa), and some encounters replaced (Goblins with Batiri, Giant Ferrets become large snakes, and Gnomes with Baboons). Another option is to recycle parts of Tomb of Annihilation. Add a few zombies and skeletons.
