Moai for the Sea of Dread Druids

by Marc Saindon

One of the things I thing limiting is "culturally-locked" classes: Monks are "Asian", Druids are "Celtic". I get that subclasses and archetype are strongly associated with a culture, but an entire class? Is Ki something only Asians know about, yet a universal force? (in my view, Ki might be called "Mana" by Makai and "Pneuma" by Milesians).

I rather re-imagine the Druid class as the "Primals", with the celtic Druid being a variant found in very Celtic lands like the northern Isle of Dawn and maybe Klantyre (I don't know Glantri's stance on Druids is the same as Clerics), and having another name elsewhere. In Ierendi, a Makai Druid would be called a Kahuna, for example.

This change would also apply to stone circles, menhirs, dolmens, and earth mounds of celtic cultures associated with Druids. These would take a different tangent, and the Easter Island Moai sculptures would be more appropriate in a Makai-centered Druid campaign than a Stonehenge replica in Ierendi or the Isle of Dread, while lesser shrines might boast smaller tiki statues.
