The Seashell Ambassador
by GreenbrierThanks Aoz! Haven't figured out how to incorporate any of the other characters yet, but I do have an idea for a couple of almanac events involving the Seashell Ambassador...
Here it is, let me know if you have ideas to improve -
FLAURMONT 7, AC 1011: If it's fish you wish...
Location: Akorros, Darokin
Description: Today Ronald McDonald will open his latest McDonald's restaurant in the city of Akorros beside Lake Amsorak. Taking advantage of the bounty of the lake, Ronald is also ready with a new menu item. In addition to his standard menu, this restaurant will sell a batter-dipped, fried fish filet served with a fourth sauce Ronald has created by adding spices & diced pickle to his regular Averoignian mayonnaise.
What This Means: McDonald's continues its inexorable march across the map of the Known World. If the fish filet proves successful here, Ronald will introduce it to his other restaurants in Darokin and Glantri later this year.
What the PCs can do: If in Akorros, visit the new restaurant! Or they could be hired to sabotage the opening by a rival restauranteur in Akorros, determined to prevent the spread of "Glantrian fast food" to his city.
THAUMONT 22, 1012: Treasures of the Sea, for a limited time only!
Location: McDonald's restaurants in Darokin & Glantri
Description: Ronald McDonald's restaurant in Akorros and the new fried fish filet have proven to be a hit. After spending some months contracting for adequate supplies of fish, today Ronald will launch the fish filet at his other locations in Darokin & Glantri.
Ronald has also ordered several crates of seashells from Zacarius, Glantri City's "Seashell Ambassador." These shells will be used as the prize in kids Happy Meals sold at all locations for the next few weeks to celebrate the new menu item.
What This Means: The exotic seashells will delight the children in landlocked Glantri, and Ronald may run this promotion again down the road.
Zacarius is thrilled with his biggest sale of seashells to date, and the possibility of more to come. King Trueon of Cathos was shocked when Zacarius sent word of the order for so many seashells to deliver to the (obviously insane) Glantrians. The wizards gold spends just fine though, although King Trueon is beginning to wonder just how effective Zacarius' "punishment" is...
What the PCs can do: If near a McDonald's, try the new menu item! If they have ties to Cathos, they could be sent by King Trueon to investigate what is going on in Glantri and why Zacarius seems to be finding so much success with an assignment that was only meant as a scheme to keep him away from the princesss.
