Gator-men of Tangleroot Bay
by WingofCootThe huge area of swamp, shallows, and marshes at the south end of the Great Middle Lake, fed by three major rivers, is known as Tangleroot Bay. The climate of this area is marginally tropical, at the northern end and subtropical at the southern end, similar to the Everglades and southern Louisiana.
This area is populated by gator men. The gator-men are numerous, about 12,000 total, but live in over a hundred scattered small settlements of mud and reeds, on shores and half-submerged, ranging from a few dozen up to 100-200 individuals. Most of these are ruled by a shaman of Terra.
Gator men are nearly pure carnivores, and do not practice agriculture. They live by fishing and hunting. However, the Tangleroot Bay area is incredibly productive, and can easily support a larger number of gator-men than currently present.
