Tarastia's Quest for Immortality

by Håvard

Marco's writeup on Tarastia takes her on a quest far from the Jennite lands and teams her up with various women warriors, including Amazons, which I interpret as her having spent time in Pelatan.

I think you may be right about Matter being more fitting, but lets explore what her quest for Immortality under the Sphere of Energy might have entailed?

Quest for Immortality in the Sphere of Energy
Quest: Find a lesser artifact in the Sphere of Energy
This could be anything I suppose. Perhaps something made by Ixion. Humbaba's Glaring Eye (Master Set) could also be fun, but a bit random. Or maybe an artifact that allows her to cast spells or create magical items. That would be helpful for the next step on her quest....

Trial: Create an entirely new magical item with at least one impossible component
Although clearly written with magic users and other spellcasters in mind, I think non-spellcasters should be allowed to accomplish this task by hiring a spellcaster assuming the character on the quest is the one who obtains the components, finances the thing etc. Who knows what the item may be. A holy avenger axe maybe?

It would be cool if this was something that happened in the Jennite lands. The 6 apprentices could be from all over the planet. It would be appropriate if they were all women. As to transforming the land, how about a Great Wall of China style wall? If the Jennites were at least initially hostile towards her upon her return, it might help building a wall against them.

Task:Must challenge and be accepted by all magic users within 1000 miles, including at leat eight 25+ level magic users

This is also an extremely interesting task. This could have included all of the most powerful magic users of Skothar, or at least within the radius mentioned. She does not have to defeat them with magic and she doesnt have to kill them, but they have to have accepted her superiority.

All in all, this is plenty of ideas for developing the history of the Jennites in the BC2300 era, assuming her quest didnt take her to other parts of Mystara....
