Aurum Hounds - AC 1005 - War For Tilerna

In 1005 AC the Master of Hule marches his armies against the Known World, Thyatis and Alphatia clash in a catastrophic war, and the world is in turmoil. Amidst all of this the Aurum Hounds are profiting from all the fighting, some selling their services to Thyatis, some to Alphatia, some to Darokin, but never to Hule, as many of them have a sour history with the Master's tyrannical nation. However, not all enemies target the Known World. An army marches through the wilderness, made up of humanoids of all shapes and sizes. Orcs, goblins, trolls, ogres, and many more. At the head of this terrible host stands a council of false prophets and bloodthirsty warlords, known only as the Council of Chaos. They've scoured the lands of Brun, and finally their conquest is aimed towards Tilerna. The seemingly profitable War On All Sides has now reached the doorstep of the Free Kingdom, and it will not be long before the Free Three will face the wrath of this chaotic warhost.

This small campaign like event is set during the events of the War On All Sides. I invite everyone interested to join the battle, be it with a regiment or as one of the many defenders of Tilerna. I will provide a conflict biweekly, and if it takes longer just assume something got in my way. How this will play out is every group interested in doing this will run the conflict as presented, and leave some kind of a report, however detailed you like.

But without much more fanfare I present the first of the many clashes in the War For Tilerna...

The Battle of Fort Rorke
Fort Rorke is little more than a decrepit border fort overseeing the roads between Tilerna and Herath. The place is also the home of a unit of Last Standers tasked with acting as a first line of defense in case of an invasion of any kind. The unit is led by the veteran commander Lorenzo. Lorenzo is a strange man in that he has the full loyalty of his warriors, even though the battle mage of the unit is dead and the glyphs on the convict's skin are gone. However, Lorenzo knows how to treat his fighters, how to act around him. His leadership has held the Last Standers together like Sovereign Glue.

On the 20th of Newmont, the first wave of the humanoid invasion hits. Led by the kobold warlord Shrike, over two thousand kobolds, some clad in heavy steel armor, make their way against Fort Rorke. It's up to the Last Standers to hold the line against the overwhelming odds, and they have about a week to prepare before the first wave strikes against their defenses.

Goal
Fight off the kobolds with what you have, or die trying. The waves will come every day, and Shrike will join the last assault with his heaviest hitting and heavily armored kobold guards.
