Gorgons of the Toralai grasslands
by HåvardOne of the more unusual creatures some times seen on the Toralai grasslands are Gorgons. These huge bull-like creatures often live among herds of Bison and other wild cattle. The animals are apparently immune to the petrification effect of the Gorgons. Gorgons some times breed with bison (eeeew), but the offspring are always bison, although often stronger and healthier than normal. The bravest Toralai sometimes hunt Gorgons. Their horns are prized and make for incredibly strong spearheads or ornaments. The Toralai are able to make a kind of leather face mask that they fill with special herbs that helps them resist the Gorgon breath. One legendary warrior, Bograj the Tamer, who is one of the rare Toralai Bison Riders was actually able to tame a Gorgon that he uses as a mount.
Note: I took some liberties with how the Gorgons work here.
