Mystara Message Boards
Thanks to the work of Solauren a copy of the Forums from the Wizards of the Coast were downloaded before they were removed in 2015. Below are a copy of the Mystara forums as extracted by Solauren - I have up what he referred to as the 2005 Campaign Setting Mystara forum, the 2005 DND - Out of Print forum, the 2008 Campaign Setting; Mystara forum and the 2015 Other Published Worlds forum. There was also a 2008 DND - Out of Print forum, but it only had 14 threads so it was easy to identify whether there were any threads with Mystara or BECMI content. It should be noted that the forum posts were extracted en masse so the extraction is not necessarily perfect, but given the alternative they are perfect. The following, however, should be noted:
- posts are provided in text format for the 2005 forums and html format for the 2008 and 2015 forums
- the pages below are 1000 threads per page
- the page file names are the thread number, so if you have links to pages on the original forums you can find the resultant text or html page by going directly to the page with that thread number
- posts are ordered as by Solauren
- the thread number is not an indication of chronological order
- there are about 100 thread numbers which appear in both forums, and from those few I've checked they appear to be the same. I have a distant recollection that Wizards may have copied some recent threads from the old boards to the new when the new ones opened ... but this may not be true. I have not removed any duplicates
- some threads appear to be blank
- some threads have links which link back to the page itself, but in others the links to other pages, including images, are working
- some threads seem to have quotes to text from other threads which is missing
- the 2005 DND - Out of Print and 2015 Other Published Worlds forums are not forums where Mystara or BECMI are discussed exclusively
Some of the things above may be fixed with the fullness of time, but this is not a priority at the moment - so please consider the information provided as is.
